Philip J. Melchiorre, M.D. received his B.S. from Boston University, Boston MA and his M.D. from UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School, Newark NJ. He completed his internship at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch, NJ and his residency at New York University/Rusk Institute of Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine, New York, NY. His research fellowship followed at UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School, Newark, NJ.
His academic appointments include Instructor and Assistant Professor, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School, Newark NJ, and Assistant Professor, Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.His professional work includes Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation consults for an acute city hospital; inpatient attending for an acute rehabilitation unit (14 years as medical director of the unit); and, most recently, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation consults for two subacute rehabilitation facilities and an assisted living facility. Dr. Melchiorre is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. His interests include general inpatient rehabilitation.
